So grateful to have had the opportunity to enter my garment in the FGI Scholarship Competition and to win 2 awards for 1st place! I couldn’t even think when they announced my name 😂 I was so shook.

I’m so blessed that I get to do what I love. There’s also a lot of hard rigorous work, sleepless nights and patience that fashion design students have to go through. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds, but it all pays off! Congrats to all my peers that won an award and participated, your hard work and dedication is inspiring!

Thank you FGI and Rhonda Sargent Chamber Production for supporting the next generation of designers and to everyone who reached out or DM’d me to say congrats! I so appreciate the support!! ❤️

I'm Moving to Paris!

Hey guys, hope your week is off to a great start because I know mine is! I just bought a one-way ticket to Paris, and not Paris, TX giiirl. (Mom, if you're reading this relax, it's for a fashion studying abroad program.)

Growing up, I always wanted to study abroad in either Paris or Italy, as well as travel around the world while in my 20's so why not do both?! I worked really hard to make this happen, so I'm very excited to live in Paris for the summer, and to study fashion in the fashion capital.  Along with studying fashion, I'm going to study other subjects like art, architecture, photography, and travel all over Europe.

I honestly think I'm most excited for all the independent traveling I'm about to do. I've traveled throughout Dubai alone before, and I loved it so much. While I enjoy traveling with others, I think I have more fun traveling alone. I think it's because it forces me to push myself out of my comfort zone and make amazing new experiences and friends. Traveling alone has taught me so much about myself and how to enjoy life on your own. However, this time I'm not just visiting a new country for a short while, but I'll actually be living in Paris, having an apartment, and attempting to live a local lifestyle lol. I'm hoping I have a positive experience like I did in the UAE.

Please send your prayers my way for safe travels and zero bug bites because I don't do bugs! :)

Anyone can study abroad, do not let money get in your way. I always thought you had to have tons of money, but that's not necessarily true. There's a lot you can do to avoid financial stress. There are SO MANY things I've learned about preparing to study abroad and I haven't even left the states yet! I'm thinking of doing a post or YouTube Q&A video on how I did it, and how you can too! Maybe while I'm in Paris?

Let me know in the comments if that's something y'all would be interested in, and I'll be happy to share some tips that I wish someone told me, CHEAP plane tickets people don't know about, along with other valuable info. :)

Since I already did all the research, you guys can learn from my mistakes. *tears*

I'll also try to post my current location while abroad in my Instagram bio @graceberaki!

I'm really loving this sandy color crop from Chriselle x J.O.A. There were so many versatile pieces in this collection. My favorite part about this top is that it can be tied a number of ways, and the striped print gives it a summer beach vibe. I paired this top with a denim skirt that has a sandy wash to it. I love the raw hem because it gives the skirt a cool and chic summer beach vibe. This top also came with a wide leg pant that I could totally see myself wearing in either Italy or Greece!

Bisous Bisous Dallas

Hey guys! If you love macarons and other french pastries you'll want to visit Bisous Bisous Patisserie in West Village Dallas. It's a tiny french-style bakery and sweet treat shop with an indoor coffee bar. Not only is the customer service great, but they also have cute marble tables with European style chairs for their patio seating! Let's just say this place is very Instagram lol.

It's is a pretty small and intimate shop so it's a great place to study, get work done or simply enjoy your morning coffee because it's kind of ducked off in West Village. Be sure to enjoy the cute patio seating before it gets too hot! (June just began and it's this hot guys.)

How to Achieve an Effortlessly Chic Look On a Budget

Hope you all are off to a great start this week! I absolutely love Monday’s because you get to start the  work week fresh, and decide how you want your week to go!

I have a lot of things planned this week, mostly work related, but I still want to look cute in an effortless kind of way.

For this look, I’m wearing a pinstripe silk satin shirt, black slacks with a sandal heel. To achieve an effortlessly chic look you can play with texture and add small details to your outfit to elevate the look. For example, instead of wearing a plain button up shirt, I chose a silk satin shirt with stripes  to give it a more expensive feel, and I tied the bottom of my shirt and rolled my sleeves to add some flavor. Another thing I did was style my hair in a high ponytail braid to dress up my outfit, and give it a high fashion look.

These simple tips can really make your outfit look more expensive than it really is. (This is a 90s vintage top from my mother's closet, for FREE.) If you’re a college student or just balling on a budget, then this ensemble is for you! This look can be put together for under $80, and it has interchangeable pieces so it could be worn with other pieces you might already have, like jeans!

Leave a comment if you want me to show you how to nail this high ponytail braid in under 10 minutes!

Why I Took a Break from Social Media

Hey everyone! I am back with another post! It’s been a long time, but I’ve read all of your DMs, comments, and text messages and they’ve made me smile!

As you probably noticed I took some time away from social media. Everything was going really great with my blog and a lot of new opportunities were coming my way, but I really felt God telling me to be still and wait on Him. I’m a go-getter and I can’t stand sitting still. I enjoy working hard in a fast-paced, and never being bored. It makes me feel productive, but this also revealed a lot to me. To make a long story short, I took a few months off of social media, deleted the apps and all. I really got to focus on my focus and change the direction of how I want to do things in this industry. This time also gave me a whole new perspective on life, helped me learn discipline, obedience, awareness and how to wait on the Lord to tell me when to move.

I may have taken a break from social media, but I obviously didn’t break up with fashion. I continued styling, working on my graduating fashion collection and studying conceptual design, which I am still doing ‘till this day. (School is no joke right now so if I don’t post as often, just know my priorities are in line.) I will most definitely take more digital detoxes. I really think everyone should, no matter who you are or how old you are!

I didn’t get too in-depth on how the past few months went, but please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a DM if you’re thinking about taking a digital break and want to know how I went about mine. It can be tough, especially if you’re a content creator, so I’m here to help!

Can we just focus on how cute this top is? This blouse is so fun and flirty! It has a breezy feel with the ruffles and asymmetrical peplum detail. And this gold yellow color is everything! Perfect for spring. You can instantly shop my looks, like this blouse, by following me on the app. Click on the link below and hit follow!!

Grace Beraki x Kenn Espinosa

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since I've lasted posted. I've been really busy with my fashion design internship, working full time, and personal projects. I've also been working on a couple other projects I can't wait to share!

I'm also so happy that I got to be the first person to take a look at my friend, Kenn Espinosa's, very first Fall Collection. I'm so excited to share these looks with you all, especially the dresses that were custom made for me!

My favorite garment from the collection is the dress called Grace, obviously because it was named after me. Hehe, it's actually my favorite because of the strappy back details and the style lines on the garment. This dress fit me like a glove and hugged my body at all the right places.
After reviewing Espinoa's collection, the first three words that come to my mind were - stunning, confident and collective.

Not only is this collection gorgeous and excellently designed, but it was inspired by a concept that's so inspiring to me, the moon!

By the way, don't judge me if you see me repeating this dress to a holiday party this fall/winter!

Had to tie up my hair because of this Texas heat!

How to Get Perfect Curls With No Heat + Cute Lunch Spot

A lot of you guys asked how I got my hair to curl with no heat, and what restaurant I was eating at on IG and Snap Chat. I tried to get back to everyone who DM'd me and decided to do a post with all your answers, as promised!

Last week I had lunch with a girlfriend at this cute Parisian restaurant called Mercat Bistro. The food and service were great, and the ambiance was everything! You literally feel like you're in a different city. It's the cutest spot and definitely Insta worthy! I love that Dallas is on the come up with all these new diverse restaurants. I'll definitely be sharing more of my favorite food places!

HAIR: My no heat curls regimen is SO easy and a healthy option/route for beautiful bouncy curls! All you need are a good set of rollers, bobby pins, a water spray bottle, a comb, Moroccan Oil or your choice of a natural oil, and a bandanna (optional). You can find these items at your local beauty store, drugstore or on Amazon. Side note: I would do this procedure at night before bed if you have really thick and curly hair!

The first thing I do is wash my hair so it's nice and clean. Be sure to condition too, it makes a huge difference in the curls and makes it shiny.

The second thing I do is comb my hair while it's wet and part/section off a piece of my hair that I'm going to curl with a roller and apply the roller to my wet hair. You'll stabilize the roller with a bobby pin. Do this step to the rest of your hair and wait to let it air dry. I usually do this to my hair before bed, and I sleep on it because it takes longer for my hair to dry since it's so thick and curly. If it doesn't take your hair as long to air dry, then this is the perfect time to clean, organize and get some work done from home!

Once your hair is COMPLETELY dry (emphasis on completely) then you can take the rollers out of your hair. I always pull one roller out first (usually from the middle, back, or somewhere I think might still be damp) and check to see if it's dry. After I've gotten all the rollers out I apply some Moroccan Oil on my hair and on my scalp. (Btw, this stuff literally smells like heaven!) Then I use my fingers to brush through my hair to get the big volume curls and to get rid of the prom curls look lol. If your hair is super curly like mine, then the top of your hair might look a little lumpy. I get rid of those lumps by wearing a bandanna/or silk scarf on my head while I get ready. Then I take it off and my baby hair flattens down instead of looking frizzy. Now that you have your hair done, go throw on something cute and work those luscious curls girl!

This routine is so simple, but might need a lot of time depending on your hair. It's definitely worth it though! I'd rather have long-lasting healthy hair than heat damaged hair any day! I hope this helped. Please comment below with any questions/comments you have and I'll get right back to you! Also, if you'd rather see an actual video tutorial let me now. (I know videos are easier to follow sometimes so I'll make one if enough people want to see an actual demo.)

Body Shaming, Body Positivity, and Now Body Neutrality

A couple of weeks ago I got to be apart of an awesome project for a fashion editor of College FashionistaJaida Brinkley. Jaida was inspired by Jhas and Grace of Lovely n Bored to write an article on body neutrality. Body neutrality is essentially the idea between  positivity and body shaming. It's basically saying that it's your body and you can do what you want.

This photo shoot was very empowering. It was all about loving yourself, women supporting each other and girl power. I loved meeting the other girls and hearing their stories and thoughts on body shaming, body positivity and body neutrality during our interviews. This topic is relatable to everyone. We've all experienced at least one of the three topics in our life if not all, especially women.

PERSONAL STORY: (I wasn't going to share this story because I thought it was so silly, but now I feel like I should incase someone can relate or someone needs to hear this. BTW, this isn't me calling anyone out or blasting anyone, just speaking on a recent experience.)
The other day I had a guy send me mean comments on Snap Chat because I wouldn't respond to his inappropriate messages. He tried to shame my body and me as a women, calling me all these different things. Not only had he personally sent me these comments, but he posted them on his Snap Chat story for everyone to see. Thankfully, I know exactly who I am and I am proud of my body so it didn't bother me, but just the fact that there are people out there shaming young woman is sad. I am, however glad that it was me and not another girl who maybe couldn't have handled that. I know that that's just a boy being salty that I wouldn't give him the time of day, but some people really battle with these insecurities don't need that negative energy in their life. No one does.

I can go on an on about this topic, but I'll leave it at this. Let's think about our younger siblings and loved ones in our lives. What kind of example are we leading and raising our younger girls in? What are we teaching our young boys? They are our would's future. The people our future children, and grandchildren are going to encounter. We really need to be kinder to one another and more mindful and intentional of what we say.

As for the article, I don't want to give too much of it away so please head over to College Fashionista to check out the article I was featured in. (I will insert the direct link below.) I  got some questions the other week asking what I we were shooting for on Snap Chat and Instagram, so I really just wanted to share what I was working on in this post. I hope this post and the article encourages or enlightens someone! I love you guys!!

“Our bodies have been given to us to live our lives, not define us,” Christine Morgan, the CEO of The Butterfly Foundation, in an interview with ELLE AustraliaAt the end of the day, it’s not about comparing ourselves to rest of world. It’s about using our bodies in our journeys to living, experiencing, learning, and loving ourselves. - Jaida Smith

Well said!

Be sure to check out the full article at by Jaida Brinkley. I'd love to hear your thoughts/stories on this topic. Please feel free to comment below, send a DM on Instagram/Facebook or email me if you have any questions or if you want to chat. I love hearing from you guys!!
